Ernst Weber

Ernst Weber started his career as art director of broadcast design at national TV station in Sankt Petersburg Russia under the supervision of acclaimed Russian film director Igor Maslennikov. In 1995 and 1996, Ernst and classmate Pasha Shapiro collaborated on several motion design projects, including film work for Aleksei Balabanov, Igor Maslennikov, Maksim Pezhemsky and other Russian film directors. Ernst received several awards and nominations for broadcast motion design, including a GRAPHICON Viewers’ Choice Award in 1995 and Telegraph Jury Prize in 1996. In 1998 Ernst collaborated with Pasha Shapiro to create the music video “Survivors” for the Pet Shop Boys.
With a Master’s Degree in Communication Design in hand, Ernst moved to Germany, where he broke onto computer games development, serving as an Art Director for Phenomedia AG and later for Tipp24 Entertainment GmbH and has created characters and visuals for many famous “Moorhuhn” games, “Milben alarm”, “Go, Piggo, go!”, “Paula’s Mini-Golf”, “Knobeln”, “Puzzle Rick” and many others.
In early 2000 Ernst and Pasha Shapiro start to work on writing and producing short animation story “Unpredictable Behavior”. In 2008 this animation was premiered at New York film festival it was also nominated for best short film at 2008 Anima Mundi international festival, received official selection at numerous European and American festivals. In 2008 Ernst started to collaborate with 7 Grammy winning artist will.i.am. Their collaboration ranges from art installations to music videos and stage animated shows.in 2011 with will.i.am Ernst directed two super bowl tv commercials for tech giant Salesforce.
in 2014 Their Art installation Pyramid presented at London’s Barbican Centre and later exhibited in modern art museums in LA, Stockholm, Athens and Istanbul and currently continue to it’s tour
Between 2010 and 2015 Ernst directed music videos for Miley Cyrus , Black Eyed Peas, French Montana, Wiz Khalifa, Anja Nelson. several of those videos reach hundreds of millions of hits on youtube.
