Tammy-Anne Fortuin

Tammy-Anne Fortuin is a writer, director and actor who earned her BFA Filmmaking Degree majoring in Filmmaking at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. She is also an Acting Conservatory Graduate from the same institution in New York.
An honor roll graduate, she wrote and directed the black comedy called Meeting Jenny. The narrative short kicked off its festival run in May 2015 at the Cannes Film Festival’s Short Corner, and went on to make official selections for the 2015 Palm Springs International Film Festival’s ShortFest, and London’s Raindance Film Festival where it picked up distribution. Fortuin’s thesis film, Aimee, is a dramatic coming of age story set for completion in 2016. Both the aforementioned short-screenplays advanced to the semi-finals of Screencraft’s 2015 Short Screenplay Contest that honors outstanding writing in the motion picture arts.
Born and raised in Paarl, South Africa, she is best known to audiences in her home country as the anchor for the prime time, multi-award-winning TV series called “Roer!” where she has hosted more than 300 episodes of the lifestyle show for the television network DSTV. She also went on to co-host and co-produce, what would become a three-time, South African Film and Television Award-winning magazine show called “All Access” on DSTV.
